Costs

The size and number of utilities and the mix of electric generation fuels, including nuclear, coal and hydro, have led to some of the region's most affordable power costs. Industrial power rates in the state average 5.74 cents per kilowatt hour, among the lowest rates in the nation (about 16% less than the national average). In addition to favorable rates, service and reliability are not sacrificed to maintain costs.

Natural Gas

Two interstate pipeline systems and intrastate pipelines provide abundant supplies of natural gas to South Carolina's manufacturers. The rates and services are subject to regulation by the state Public Service Commission
